About Dadullah Akhund

Mullah Dadullah Akhund (1965? – May 11, 2007) was an ethnic Pashtun from Uruzgan province in Afghanistan. He was the Taliban's top military commander until his death in 2007.

Mullah Dadullah, a top lieutenant of Taliban leader Mullah Omar, who orchestrated suicide attacks, was the backbone of the Taliban. For many years Mullah Dadullah has been known to be one of the most brutal and extreme Taleban leaders, who killed and beheaded Afghan civilians.

He has been called "Afghanistan's top Taliban commander" by Nato officials, and was high on the US list of most-wanted people in the country. Mullah Dadullah lost one of his legs when fighting with the Mujahideen in Kabul in 1996 and has since used an artificial limb.

He had the reputation of a fearless man. Despite his disability, he fought and led major battles for the Taleban against the rival Northern Alliance forces during the 1990s. And he was the first Taleban commander to give interviews to print and electronic media after the fall of the regime. Unlike other Taleban leaders who never allowed themselves to be photographed for religious and security reasons, Mullah Dadullah did just the opposite.

Mullah Dadullah told the BBC in early 2006 that he had hundreds of suicide bombers awaiting his orders to launch an offensive against foreign troops. In March 2007, London television Channel 4 aired an interview in which Dadullah said al-Qaida (or al Qaeda) leader Osama bin Laden was alive and well and in contact with Taliban officers.

Afghan officials reported on May 13, 2007 that Mullah Dadullah was killed the previous evening in a clash with Afghan and Western - allied forces in Helmand province. His body was subsequently put on display for reporters in Kandahar, with bullet wounds to the head, chest and stomach.

Au sujet de Dadullah Akhund

Mollah Dadullah Akhund (1965 ? - 11 mai 2007; aussi Mullah) était d’ethnie Pashtun de la province d'Uruzgan en Afghanistan. Il était le commandant militaire suprême Taliban jusqu'à sa mort en 2007.

Le Mollah Dadullah, lieutenant supérieur du Chef taliban Mollah Omar, qui a orchestré des attaques suicide, était l'épine dorsale du Taliban. Pendant plusieurs années, le Mollah Dadullah était connu comme étant l'un des chefs taliban le plus brutal et le plus extrême, qui a tué et décapité des civils afghans.

Il s'est fait appelé « le top commandant taliban d'Afghanistan » par les fonctionnaires de l'OTAN, et était haut sur la liste américaine des personnes les plus recherchées dans le pays. Le Mollah Dadullah avait perdu une de ses jambes en combattant avec le Mujahideen à Kaboul en 1996 et avait depuis utilisé un membre artificiel.

Il a eu la réputation d'un homme téméraire. En dépit de son incapacité, il a lutté et a mené des batailles majeures pour le Taliban contre les forces rivales de l'Alliance nordique pendant les années 90. Et il était le premier commandant Taliban à donner des entrevues à la presse et aux médias électroniques après la chute du régime. À la différence d'autres chefs Taliban qui ne se sont jamais laissés photographier, pour raisons religieuses et de sécurité, le Mollah Dadullah a juste fait le contraire.

Le Mollah Dadullah a dit à la BBC début 2006 qu'il avait des centaines de bombardiers - suicide attendant ses ordres pour lancer une offensive contre les troupes étrangères. En mars 2007, la télévision canal 4 de Londres a diffusé une entrevue dans laquelle Dadullah indiquait que le Chef Oussama Ben Laden d'Al-Qaida (ou al Qaeda) était vivant, en santé et en contact avec les dirigeants talibans.

Les officiels afghans ont rapporté le 13 mai 2007 que le Mollah Dadullah a été tué la soirée précédente dans un affrontement avec des Afghans et les forces alliées occidentales dans la province de Helmand. Son corps a été plus tard livré en exposition pour des journalistes à Kandahar, avec des blessures de balle à la tête, à la poitrine et à l'estomac.

About Paris Hilton

Paris Whitney Hilton, born on February 17, 1981 in New York City, is the oldest of four children of Richard Hilton and Kathy Richards. Her younger sister is Nicky Hilton, and her younger brothers are Barron Hilton II, and Conrad Hilton III. Her paternal grandparents are hotel chairman Barron Hilton, and his wife, the former Marilyn Hawley; Hilton's paternal great-grandparents were Hilton Hotels founder Conrad Hilton and his first wife, Mary Barron. The release of the tape led to speculation that it was a deliberate publicity stunt, but Hilton has strongly denied such claims and stated she was "embarrassed" and "humiliated" by the publicity brought by the tape. The sex video, subsequently called 1 Night in Paris (2004) was later released on DVD and Hilton received directorial credit. The film earned three AVN Awards in 2005, including "Best Selling Title of the Year". Hilton originally sued Salomon over the release of the tape, but settled out of court in July 2005. Hilton was reportedly awarded up to $400,000 and planned to donate a percentage to charity, although in a 2006 interview with GQ magazine she stated that she never received money from the sale of the video.

Before, Paris Hilton has appeared in numerous advertising campaigns, including Iceberg Vodka, GUESS, Tommy Hilfiger, Christian Dior, and Marciano. In 2001, Hilton began to develop a reputation as a 19-year-old socialite, being identified as "New York's leading It Girl".

In September 7 2006, she was arrested for driving under the influence and had her driver license suspended. She failed a sobriety test after police saw her weaving down a street in her Mercedes-Benz on what she said was a late-night run to a hamburger stand. In January 2007 she pled no contest to the alcohol-related reckless driving charge. Subsequently she was sentenced a 36 month probation sentence, alcohol education and fines of about $1,500.

She was twice cited for driving on a suspended license. On February 27, 2007 Hilton was caught driving 70 MPH in a 35 MPH zone with a suspended license. She also did not have her headlights on while it was after dark. This constituted a violation of the terms of her probation. On May 4, 2007 Hilton was sentenced by Judge Michael T. Sauer to 45 days in jail for violating her probation, and she is required to begin her jail term June 5, 2007 or risk a doubling of her sentence. When Hilton was sentenced, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled she would not be allowed any work release, furloughs or use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in lieu of jail. Initially, Hilton planned to appeal her sentence, and supported an online petition asking California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for a pardon. Paris later switched lawyers, and dropped her plans to appeal. Due to various reasons, the Los Angeles County Sheriff anticipates Hilton to only serve about 23 days of her sentence.

On June 3, 2007, at 11:38 pm, after attending the 2007 MTV Movie Awards, she went from a red-carpeted Hollywood soiree to a spartan Los Angeles prison cell on Monday, surrendering herself early to serve a 45-day jail sentence. Hilton turned herself in to police at the Men's Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles late Sunday, in an attempt to foil the crush of media attention. Hilton was accompanied by her mother, her younger sister Nicky, and her attorney Richard Hutton. Hilton was escorted to her cell around 1:00 am on Monday June 4, 2007. Hilton was given the inmate booking number 9818783.

She was then escorted to the women's facility in Lynwood, where she was booked, fingerprinted, photographed, medically screened and issued an orange top and pants. Hilton's booking photo showed the heiress wearing what appeared to be a V-neck shirt, eye makeup and lip gloss that highlighted a slight smile. Her long blond hair was draped over one shoulder. Like other inmates in that unit, Hilton will take her meals in her cell and will be allowed outside the 12-foot-by-8-foot space for at least an hour each day to shower, watch TV in the day room, participate in outdoor recreation or talk on the telephone. No cell phones or BlackBerrys are permitted in the facility, even for visitors.

In an unexpected turn of events, Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, who oversees the county's jail system, signed orders at 2:09am on June 7, reassigning Hilton to home confinement with an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet for 40 days due to an unspecified medical problem which later emerged to be psychological. She served only a total of three days, received credit for five days served.
She'll be confined to her Hollywood Hills home for 40 days. Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore refused to answer questions from reporters when asked if the medical condition was physical or psychological. He said it was not a staph infection. The jail provided Hilton with a pamphlet on the skin infection when she checked in.

Sheriff Lee Baca defended the decision to let Hilton serve her sentence at home in Friday's Los Angeles Times. "My message to those who don't like celebrities is that punishing celebrities more than the average American is not justice," Baca said. Because of overcrowding, non-violent misdemeanor offenders in the Los Angeles county jail system often serve as little at 10% of their sentence, jail officials say. Lost actress Michelle Rodriguez, for example, served four hours of a 60-day sentence in February, before she was released with an ankle monitor.

However, the sheriff's decision sparked national outrage and accusations of preferential treatment for a celebrity. L.A. City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo condemned the sheriff's decision to send Hilton home and filed court papers compelling the department to explain it to Judge Sauer. The City Attorney's Office said Baca overstepped his authority and should be held in contempt of court for violating the judge's sentencing order, which prohibited house arrest or work release. The decision for house arrest also outraged county Supervisor Don Knabe, who said he had gotten more than 400 angry e-mails on top of hundreds more phone calls.

The same day Paris was released from jail, Judge Michael Sauer ordered Hilton to reappear back in his court the following morning (June 8). Friday's court hearing was delayed two hours due to confusion over whether Hilton would testify by video from her Hollywood Hills home, or in person. Finally, she was handcuffed and placed into police cruiser 865 and arrived nearly two hours late for court.

At the hearing Judge Sauer declined to be briefed by Hilton's attorney in private chambers on the nature of her condition. He ordered her to complete her sentence in jail, rejecting arguments that Baca had the discretion to "reassign" inmates to house arrest for health reasons without court review. Judge Sauer said the sheriff's department never gave him any documentation of Hilton's condition. "I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions," Sauer said. "At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home."

Upon hearing the sentence, Hilton shouted "Mom, Mom. It's not right," as she was led out of the courtroom. Her mother, Kathy Hilton, who was present in the courtroom, also sobbed. She was then escorted out. Concern about Hilton's condition has led to her being moved to the medical wing of a Los Angeles jail instead of the all female jail in Lynwood. Baca said Hilton was scheduled to serve another 18 days behind bars under a standard credit applied against her term for time served on good behavior.

Auparavant, Paris Hilton est apparue dans de nombreuses campagnes publicitaires, y compris Iceberg Vodka, GUESS, le Tommy Hilfiger, Christian Dior, et Marciano. En 2001, Hilton a commencé à 19 ans à développer une solide réputation, étant identifiée comme "New York's leading It Girl" (fille meneuse de New York).

Le 7 septembre 2006, elle a été arrêtée pour conduire en état d’ébriété et son permis de conduire suspendu. Elle a échoué un test de sobriété après que la police l’ait vu dans sa Mercedes-Benz descendant une rue, pour une course de fin de nuit à un point de vente de hamburger dira-t-elle. En janvier 2007 elle a plaidé coupable à la charge de conduite sous alcool. Plus tard elle a été condamnée à une probation de 36 mois, une éducation en alcool et amende de 1.500 $.

Elle a été citée deux fois pour conduite avec un permis suspendu. Le 27 février 2007, Hilton a été interpellée conduisant à 70 miles/heure dans une zone de 35 miles/heure avec un permis suspendu. Elle n'avait également pas allumé ses phares alors que c’était dans l'obscurité. Ceci constituait une violation des termes de sa probation. Le 4 mai 2007 Hilton a été donc condamnée par le juge Michael T. Sauer à 45 jours de prison pour violation de probation, et fut requise de commencer sa peine de prison le 5 juin 2007, au risquer de voir doubler celle-ci. Quand Hilton fut condamnée par le juge Michael T. Sauer de la Cour supérieure, Sauer a statué qu’on ne lui permettrait aucun travail compensatoire, congé ou utilisation d'une prison alternative ou encore la surveillance électronique, au lieu de la prison ferme. Au début, Hilton prévoyait en appeler de la sentence, et a été soutenue par une pétition en ligne demandant un pardon au Gouverneur de la Californie, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Plus tard, Paris changea d’avocats et laissa tomber ses plans pour en appeler. Pour diverses raisons, le shérif du comté de Los Angeles avait prévu que Hilton purgerait seulement environ 23 jours de sa peine de prison.

Le 3 juin 2007, à 11:38 P.M., après avoir assistée aux 2007 MTV Movie Awards, elle est passée d'une soirée tapis-rouge d’Hollywood à une terne cellule de prison de Los Angeles le lundi, s’y rendant tôt pour y purger une peine de 45 jours. Hilton s'est rendue à la police au Men's Central Jail (la prison centrale pour hommes) de Los Angeles, tard dimanche, afin d'essayer de contrecarrer l'attention écrasante des médias. Hilton était accompagnée de sa mère, de sa plus jeune soeur Nicky, et de son avocat Richard Hutton. Hilton a été escortée à sa cellule autour de 1:00 AM le lundi 4 juin 2007. Hilton a reçu le matricule de détenu numéro 9818783.

Elle a été alors conduite au service de femmes à Lynwood, où elle a été enregistrée, prise des empreintes digitales, photographiée et médicalement interviewée. La photo d’enregistrement de Hilton montre l'héritière portant ce qui a semblé être une chemise en V au cou, maquillage à l’œil et un lustre de lèvres qui accentuait un léger sourire. Ses longs cheveux blonds étaient drapés sur une épaule. Comme d'autres détenus dans cette unité, Hilton prendra ses repas en sa cellule et sera autorisée à sortir de l'espace de 12 fois 8 pieds pendant au moins une heure chaque jour, pour sa douche, pour regarder la télé dans la salle de séjour, pour participer à la récréation extérieure ou pour parler au téléphone. Aucun téléphone portable ou BlackBerrys n'est autorisé dans le service, même pour des visiteurs.

Suite à un revirement inattendu des événements, le shérif Lee Baca du comté de Los Angeles, qui surveille le système pénitencier, a signé des ordres à 2:09 AM le 7 juin, réassignant Hilton à l'emprisonnement à domicile, avec un bracelet de surveillance électronique à la cheville, pendant 40 jours, le tout dû à un problème médical non spécifié, qui plus tard s’avéra être d’ordre psychologique. Hilton refusait semble-t-il de s’alimenter. Elle a purgé seulement un total de trois jours mais a reçu crédit de cinq jours. Elle sera confinée à sa résidence Hollywood Hills pendant 40 jours. Le porte-parole du shérif, Steve Whitmore, a refusé de répondre à des questions des journalistes à savoir si le trouble médical était physique ou psychologique. Il a dit que ce n'était pas une infection de staphylocoque. La prison avait fourni à Hilton une brochure sur l'infection de peau quand elle a été enregistrée.

Le shérif Lee Baca a défendu sa décision de laisser Hilton purger sa peine à la maison au Los Angeles Times du vendredi 8 juin. « Mon message à ceux qui n'aiment pas les célébrités est que punir davantage les célébrités que l'Américain moyen n'est pas justice » dit Baca. En raison de la surpopulation, dans le système pénitencier du comté de Los Angeles, les contrevenants non-violents ne purgent souvent qu’environ 10% de leur peine, déclarent les fonctionnaires de la prison. L'actrice Michelle Rodriguez, par exemple, n’a purgé que quatre heures d'une peine de 60 jours en février, avant d’être libérée avec un moniteur à la cheville.

Cependant, la décision du shérif a attisé un outrage national et des accusations de traitement préférentiel pour une célébrité. L’avocat de la ville de Los Angeles, Rocky Delgadillo, a condamné la décision du shérif d’envoyer Hilton à la maison et a émis des papiers de cour contraignant le département à s'expliquer au juge Sauer. Le cabinet de l’avocat de la ville déclare que Baca a outrepassé son autorité et devrait être coupable devant la cour de violation d'une ordonnance du juge, qui a interdit dans ce cas la détention à domicile ou le travail compensatoire. La décision de détention à domicile a également outragé le Superviseur de comté Don Knabe, qui a dit qu'il avait reçu plus de 400 courriels de citoyens fâchés en plus de centaines d’appels téléphoniques.

Le jour même où Paris a été libéréee de prison, le juge Michael Sauer a ordonné à Hilton de revenir en cour le matin suivant (le 8 juin). L'audition en cour du vendredi a été retardée de deux heures du fait de la confusion au sujet de savoir si Hilton témoignerait par la vidéo de son domicile de Hollywood Hills ou en personne. Finalement, elle a été menottée, placée dans le cruiser 865 de la police et est arrivée presque deux heures en retard pour la cour.

A l'audition le juge Sauer a refusé d'entendre en chambre privée les représentations de l’avocat de Hilton sur la nature de son état. Il lui a ordonnée de compléter sa sentence en prison, rejetant les arguments de Baca à l’effet qu’il a la discrétion « de réassigner » des détenus à la détention à domicile pour des raisons de santé, sans révision de la cour. Le juge Sauer a dit que le département du shérif ne lui a jamais donné quelconque documentation sur l'état de Hilton. « Je n'ai à aucun moment pardonné les actions du shérif et lui ai à aucun moment dit que j'approuve les actions » a ajouté Sauer. « À aucun moment je n'ai approuvé que la défendrice soit libérée pour une garde à domicile. »

En entendant la sentence, Hilton a crié « Maman, maman, ce n'est pas juste », alors qu’elle sortait de la cour. Sa mère, Kathy Hilton, qui était présente au tribunal, sanglotait également. Elle a été alors escortée dehors. Le souci concernant l'état de Hilton a mené à la déplacer à l'aile médicale d'une prison de Los Angeles au lieu de la prison pour femmes de Lynwood. Baca a déclaré que Hilton aura à purger encore 18 jours derrière les barreaux, sous un crédit standard appliqué sur sa peine sur la base de bon comportement.

Par ailleurs, une « Autopsie de Hilton » a été présentée le 11 mai 2007 à Capla Kesting Fine Art, New York. L'autopsie de Paris Hilton est conçue pour avertir les adolescents des risques d’abus d’alcool. Créé par l'artiste Daniel Edwards, « l'autopsie de Paris Hilton » dévoile un cadavre nu de Hilton, présenté avec le corps tordu et la cavité abdominale ouverte sur la table d'un coroner, alors que son téléphone portable demeure dans sa poignée.
